For people that can attend this conference here's a guide line of how to be prepared, iive took this from the Rendlesham forum hope they dont mind 30th Anniversary: Visit to the forest - be prepared by Gordy » Sat Nov 13, 2010 12:23 pm We thought visitors to the forest on 28 December especially those who have never been there, need to be prepared to avoid any possible glitches. Dec 28 2009 was about -5deg C (23deg F) with 8 inches of snow!. Cars were getting stuck on hills. Rendlesham Forest is in a very rural part of East Suffolk and with the public spending cuts Suffolk County Council have already said they will cut back on road salting. The roads leading out there will not be treated with salt. If a cold snap is forecast and the winds come in off the north sea in an east or north easterly direction we can get very heavy snow. Last year I witnessed thunder snow for the first time where a storm dumped 6in of snow in 2 hours with no warning. I have a Jeep that will pull a car or small van up an icy hill, in case we need to. It can of coarse be the complete opposite with temps upto 12deg C. Accommodation...........Does anyone need help with finding accomodation?. There are plenty of hotels/guest houses in the Ipswich area. Premier Inn has 4 hotels, there is a Holiday Inn on the outskirts of Ipswich and several more in the town centre itself. This link www.bentwatersparks.com/accommodation/bandb.html is very useful if you are looking for accomodation in the Woodbridge area itself. Being over the Xmas period public transport will be almost non-existent I would imagine, especially after 6pm on Dec 28. Do not expect to be able to get a bus or train from Ipswich to Woodbridge, let alone from Woodbridge, the 6 miles or so to the forest. There won't be any. Vehicles are essential. We need to ensure those who need to hitch a ride are catered for. There is plenty of parking in front of the Community Hall and surrounding streets and at that time parking attendants should have gone home to finish off the turkey!. I have not contacted the Forestry Commission about this event however I will be visiting this weekend to put up some posters. Public access on foot is available 24/7 and permmission is not needed. However there is no vehicular access to the forest. I have not contacted Woodbridge Base (now called Rock Barracks). Public access is available on part of this base anytime, where the bungalows and barracks for the boys and girls of the 81st are still standing, but no public access is available to the military part so there is no way we would be allowed on there. If you want to visit Bentwaters Technical site you can drive straight through the main gate and take a look around the western side without needing permission. You need to contact Bentwaters Parks www.bentwatersparks.com/ if you want to cross the runway. It is worth a visit if you can. All the original buildings are still there, as is perimeter post 18 where Larry was posted, right by commie corner. Flashlights, waterproof clothing and mobile phones are essential. Maybe we could nominate some tour guides and issue their phone numbers to visitors in case they need help. Although this part of the forest is quite small, all the trails look the same at night and it's easy to get lost if you have never been there before. its not that easy to think up preplanned questions, their presentations might well answer the questions before they are asked, then others might get in before we do with a good question that we had up our sleeve, it could be a case of see how it pans out on the night.

Here's some Quote's by Nick Pope: Quote: Do I Remember All These Documents?
I’m pretty sure that I recall other Rendlesham documents that aren’t yet in the public domain. I’m trying to recall the details of these, but again I’m not sure about this and obviously couldn’t talk about such matters anyway, at least until an official decision to release them has been made. |
Quote: Some of the released documents are from the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS) and this brings me to a difficult area. It will be no great surprise to those with a knowledge of the MOD that where I’ve previously referred to “specialist divisions” assisting me with UFO work, this included the DIS. The documents make it abundantly clear that with regard to Rendlesham, DS8 and the DIS worked hand in hand, freely sharing data in the course of the investigation. This certainly reflects what happened during my tour of duty in Sec(AS), from 1991 to 1994, when I would routinely liaise with these personnel, sharing data and ideas.
But for reasons that I’m sure will be obvious, this was an area of my work that I could never previously have discussed with the media or the public. It’s an area where I still can’t be wholly forthcoming, and where not everything that happens is written up on files. I don’t mean this to sound conspiratorial, and please don’t think that I’m hinting at a cover-up, because I’m not. I’m simply trying to explain that the MOD and the military do business in a way that few outsiders understand. |
Whats Nick Pope keeping from us ? He clearly knows more than he says and says there's no cover up, then goes on to say he cant talk about files that havnt been released by the MOD Which contradicts what he says, this is something im going to put to him, i think he still works for the MOD unofficialy (ill be asking him this too) otherwise hed disclose everything he knows!

this is exactly my point on Mr Pope, how the hell can he stand up and claim to be a UFOLOGIST when he is by his own admission holding back details from the UFO community, whats his views on disclosure when HE won't disclose what he knows, for ages we have been waiting for a brave honest whistleblower, well he is neither in my view, just a smuck making a living on the back of the community.

A very good living too, hes been on countless documentarys and is who the press go to when there's anything good comes out. I reckon hell come out with something along the lines of, he signed an official secrets act, to which ill counter by saying so has many other very credible witnesses within the field of Ufology, but theyve had the balls to stand up and tell us everything they know

www.ianridpath.com/ufo/rendlesham.htm Introductory note: The Rendlesham Forest UFO case has taken on the mantle of the “British Roswell”, but in truth it is a far more significant event than Roswell. There is scarcely any other UFO case anywhere which can boast such a large number of apparently highly credible witnesses on two separate nights, or such a wide variety of supporting evidence including supposed physical traces, an official memo confirming the events written by a high-ranking USAF officer, a real-time tape recording made during the second night of the sighting by the same USAF officer, a report by local police officers who were called to the scene on two separate occasions, and written statements made by the witnesses to the first night’s events. There are more TV programmes to be found posted on YouTube about this one case than any other, and it regularly appears on lists of ‘best ever’ UFO sightings. Yet much of the popular discussion of the case has centred not on the well-substantiated primary evidence mentioned above, but instead on various tales of doubtful provenance that emerged many years later once the Rendlesham mythology had become well-entrenched. I start these pages by reproducing the first article I wrote on the Rendlesham incident, published early in 1985. Although old it remains valid because it demonstrates where the case stood shortly after it became public knowledge in the early 1980s; hence it is a good place for newcomers to begin reading. The article highlights the main elements of the case and offers explanations for each in turn. It should be emphasized that none of the genuine evidence that has emerged subsequently has invalidated any of these explanations; rather, it has strengthened them. The bulk of this website is devoted to examining that additional evidence. Perhaps most significantly, government documents released since 2001 confirm that the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) never considered the case worthy of a serious investigation, and we now also know why. My article first appeared in The Guardian, a highbrow English newspaper, on 1985 January 5 under the title “A Flashlight in the Forest”. In this web version I have included a few bracketed asides to clarify and update various points, added some explanations to make various references more comprehensible to non-English readers, and included several illustrations. The article was written before the release of the tape-recording made by Lt.Colonel Charles Halt describing the events of the second night as he witnessed them. I have placed on this website the latest version of my own transcript of that tape, compiled with the help of Col Halt himself, which corrects many errors contained in various other versions found in print and online. I have also added a detailed analysis of the events on the tape. In the years since the article first appeared in print I have been able to amplify various points, based in many instances on the additional information contained in Col. Halt’s real-time tape recording or his subsequent interviews. I hope you will find this a suitable balance to some of the more fanciful treatments of this case now in circulation. SUMMARY Although the overall case is complex, the main aspects can be summarized as follows: 1. Security guards saw bright lights apparently descending into Rendlesham Forest around 3 a.m on 1980 December 26. A bright fireball burned up over southern England at the same time. 2. The guards went out into the forest and saw a flashing light between the trees, which they followed until they realized it was coming from a lighthouse (Orford Ness). 3. After daybreak, indentations in the ground and marks on the trees were found in a clearing. Local police and a forester identified these as rabbit scrapings and cuts made by foresters. 4. Two nights later the deputy base commander, Lt Col Charles Halt, investigated the area. He took radiation readings, which were background levels. He also saw a flashing light in the direction of Orford Ness but was unable to identify it. 5. Col Halt reported seeing starlike objects that twinkled and hovered for hours, like stars. The brightest of these, which appeared to send down beams of light, was in the direction of Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. At its most basic, the case comes down to the misinterpretation of a series of nocturnal lights – standard fare for UFOlogy. It is only the concatenation of three different stimuli (fireball, lighthouse, stars) that makes it exceptional. ______________________________________________________________________________ Articles and books about the Rendlesha
