UFO crash in Ubatuba, Brazil 1957:
A rare case of a UFO crash with physical evidence is that the accident happened on the beach of Ubatuba, Brazil September 14, 1957.
THE STORY:
The story began when Ibrahim Sued, a reporter for O Globo (Brazil a major newspaper), received a letter Sept. 13, 1957. The letter was signed but the signature was illegible. Cellle indicated below:
"As a loyal reader of your column and your admirer, I wish you some infromation of great interest to a newspaper man, about sooucoupes fly. If you believe they exist, of course. I never thought nothing of what was said or published about it. But there are just a few days I was forced to change his mind. I was fishing with some friends at a place near the town of Ubatuba, Sao Paulo when I saw a flying disc. He approached the beach with incredible speed and an accident, ie d. crashing into the sea seemed imminent. At the last moment, however, when it was almost hit the water, he made a sharp turn upward and climbed rapidly on a fantastic impulse. We followed the spectacle with our eyes in amazement when we saw the disc burst into flames. It disintegrated thousands of fiery fragments, which fell sparkling with magnificent bursts. It was like fireworks, despite the time of the accident at noon. Most of these fragments, almost all have fallen But the sea in a number of pieces fell near the beach and we took a large quantity of this material, which was as light as paper. I am sending you a small sample. I do not know you should have confidence in the analysis, I do not know who to send them. I've never heard of Recovery flying saucer, or fragments or parts of a dish that would have been found. "
Two of the three samples were sent toAPRO, while the third was kept by the Brazilian UFO researcher Dr. Olavo Fontes for further study.
The three samples looked like pieces of metal and heavily oxidized irregular, gray-white mat.
The first sample was examined at the laboratories of mineral production of Brazilian agricultural ministry. They applied techniques chemical, spectrographic analysis and X-ray on the metal. These tests indicated that the material was very pure magnesium. The chemists have also noted that all the trace elements included in the normal magnesium were missing.
Fontes has exhausted all his sample in a series of other trials, which included a further search conducted in the X-ray, and research in chemistry laboratories to a Department of Geology, and fragments were sent to the research departments of Army and Navy of Brazil. The army and navy have kept the results secret of their studies.

The geology lab determined that the magnesium was of a high purity with a measure of purity of 1.87 versus a normal measure of 1.74.
APRO has sent a sample to the U.S. Air Force, but the sample they sent was the victim of "accident" while looking at the U.S. Air Force. The U.S. Air Force has requested that another sample is sent. APRO declined.
The remaining samples were further analyzed with varying results, until the samples have become too small for any use in tests.
APRO has always a small sample remaining in its coffers
