Hi guys as some of you know im training to be an Investigator for Bufora, well im stuck on one of the questions id like to pick everyones brains to try and get the right answer. Here's the scenario: SightingMr. A was a rambler who had spent a week in the Lake District late last summer. He had climbed the peaks around Waste Water and was now heading towards the coast south of Egremont. He made camp for the night as twilight fell and was ready to take in the view on a warm night with only a gentle breeze. Suddenly he noticed an oval object glowing a strange orange/yellow or pinky colour that was to his west and moving very slowly northward and away from him. He watched it for 3 minutes, including through his binoculars, trying to understand what it was. Finally he decided to make a report to BUFORA on the belief that what he saw was a UFO. Question.Do you agree? As an investigator what steps would you take? Paying particular attention to the location where this sighting occurred what features of the environment might conceivably be important in your attempts to try to solve this case? Can you make any suggestions as to what the UFO might have been? Any help on this would be appreciated

If the subject has maintained the route and the constant speed ,could be the ISS to reflect the last sun rays . but the reports of obervador is fundamental ,because if he noted the subject with binoculars should be able to a description in more detail.

Its a hypothetical sighting mike ie: there's no definitive answer, all i know is its the location that is key to try and solve this sighting., im scratching my head on this at the min. Im going to get an ordnance survey map of the area see what i can find from that as ive been told i should be looking at one of them But thats all ive got to go off other than whats in the op

Perhaps it is not the location on Earth that is what you should be thinking about, but the location of the object in the sky. The object was sighted in the Western sky, moving slowly Northward, which would make me ask the question, was the object he saw Venus? As the sighting took place in the summer months, Venus is close to the earth, and has often be mistakingly reported as a UFO. Just a thought,

But its thre wrong answer. Myself and Laurance spent abit of time on this the other week. Im waiting for an ordnance survey map of the area. But directly to the left where the object was sighted, is Sellafield it has a Helipad i was thinking it may have been a helicopter going to sellafield.
