Woman Encounters UFO in Missouri
By Billy Booth
A 56-year-old woman filed this report of a UFO sighting that occurred in Independence, Missouri, on October 4, 2011.
She tells us that she has been traveled quite extensively, and finally settled back in her home state of Missouri. Her story begins at about 8:00 PM as she was finishing up a day of running errands in town. She was almost home when she looked down the street ahead where the road makes a Y intersection.
There their neighborhood clubhouse was located, and above it she could see a group of lights that seemed to be sitting stationary in the sky. She estimated that the lights were several hundred feet in altitude. She immediately stopped her car, and backed up some to get a better look.
She immediately thought to herself, "It's a UFO!" then thought again, "No, it couldn't be." She began to slowly drive closer and closer to the lights. Amazingly, they moved not an inch. She finally drove right under the object.
An Unobstructed View
Directly below the object now, she had an unobstructed view of a triangle-shaped object. She could see the entire underside of it, and lights that ran along the edges, about a foot from the outside. She could tell that the underside of the UFO was slightly rounded, yet smooth.
The object was made of a gray/black metal substance, with the lights being red, orange, green and blue, all very brightly lit. They were sitting smoothly even with the surface of the object. The object itself appeared to be not entirely solid, but more fluid-like, similar to the way mercury looks.
Chasing the UFO
As she sat glued to the object, it finally moved! It first rotated, and then began to move at an angle farther down the street. It moved slowly enough that she was almost able to keep up with on her neighborhood street.
As she came to the next corner, she lost sight of it, but she did see a small group of bystanders running toward the next block. As she passed by, one of the men yelled, "Did you see it?" I answered, "Yes!" He replied, "That was a freakin' spaceship!"
Our witness slowed down at the next stop sign, following the streets in her neighborhood, and she got back to the street her home was on. Suddenly, she caught sight of the object again. This time is was up ahead of her. She realized that her heart was pounding in her chest.
The triangle was heading right in the direction of her house now! Suddenly, the pounding of her heart stopped. She was not so afraid anymore, but more in awe of what she was looking at. The object stopped moving; it was waiting just past her house.
The Safety of Home
She pulled into her driveway, and started honking her horn to get her daughter to come outside and see the unbelievable sight. She quickly jumped out of the car, and started running to the house. She looked back to see the UFO start moving. It rotated, and then shot away up and over some nearby trees. It seemed to her that it took no more than one second to disappear.
As she reached the front door, she remembered that she hadn't even turned off the car, and her purse was still inside. She ran, cut off the engine, grabbed her purse, and went into the house, telling her daughter what she had seen. Her daughter could see that she was visibly upset, but was not so sure about what her mother was telling her.
Reflections
As she began to feel a little more at ease, and the UFO gone now, she went back outside to find the neighbors who were running down the street. They were nowhere to be seen. In her haste, she had not seen anyone she knew personally, and did not want to look like a lunatic, knocking on doors to see if anyone had seen a UFO.
As the days went by, she began to reflect on what she had seen, and a couple of thoughts entered her mind. She feels now that she was, for reasons unknown, drawn to the object, like a premonition. She also believes that the UFO had a mission, a mission to be seen. Once that was fulfilled, it had accomplished its goal.
