Are We Missing Signals From Space???
Dr. Micio Kaku, famed theoretical physicist, has posited that ET may already around us but that humans are little more than ants unable to recognize an advanced Alien civilization.
...Kaku in his book Hyperspace compares humans as fish in a pond, only aware of the environment around them, not realizing there is a huge world outside the pond....(source: ufo.whipnet.org)
Incidentally Dr. Kaku, like Stephen Hawking, says that we shouldn't be advertising our existence since the Aliens might turn out to be predators. "They will have been descended from predators, since predators are smarter than prey," Kaku says
Most are aware of the SETI Project which is an attempt by science to identify possible Alien signals coming from outer space.
So far that signal has supposedly not arrived. However, there has been speculation if an Alien signal was not received in 1977.

But it may be possible that SETI is getting 'Wow Signals' all of the time but that they are not recognizing them.
....In a recently published paper by James Benford and Dominic Benford of Microwave Sciences in Lafayette, California, the authors imagine that SETI beacons might be much like a lighthouse, sweeping the galactic plane in a raster pattern. Depending on beam size and scan rate, many days could pass between the brief Twitter-like bursts of “here we are” flashes from alien civilizations.
"We should learn how to identify any such beacons," the authors say. For starters they expect the beam would pulsate to conserve energy and also have amplitude or frequency modulation of the carrier to draw attention to itself.
The problem is that pulsars (powerful bursts of radiation from rotating neutron star magnetospheres) look just what an alien transmission might look like according to this SETI "lighthouse" model. In fact when pulsars were first discovered in the mid 1960’s they were nicknamed “LGMs” for “Little Green Men....” (source: discovery news)
Perhaps the powers that be in the SETI project already understand that there is no real way of knowing if they are getting an Alien signal or some natural interstellar phenomenon.
It may even be that SETI is simply a smokescreen to cover the massive and impressive Alien presence that permeates our skies often in plain sight.
