Interesting read, so you think U2's actually flew without sound???Hmmm, maybe if they are high enough up they aren't audible,IDK. But,isn't that a bomber plane? I have seen them in action and they are loud. I don't think that just because they were there in the area when ufo sightings occurred is enough evidence to suggest it was them being mistaken for ufo's . Correct me if I am wrong, please. But it is good to see someone cross referencing things in hopes of finding some connection to something else,we should be looking at all relevant causes for sightings. I just don't think this one washes.

I just don't think this one washes. The U-2 is a spy plane, not a Bomber. It is fairly quiet for a craft of it's size and could, in theory, fly without engines for a period of time due to the design of it's wings. But what we have to do to try and link it to possible UFO cases is look at the UFO reported, if it had lights, then what was the config of these lights. The U-2 has the standard light set-up of all Aircraft, but when on missions it would turn these off. Also at high altitudes, on a mission, it would be almost impossible to spot, due to height, colour of craft, no reference point and little/no noise. The U-2 is still flown today, so the best thing to do is to take a look at some U-2 in flight.
