They said the 'UFO' over New York was just balloons... so how do they explain the mirror image over El Paso?

It could, of course, just be an amazing coincidence.
First New York was gripped by sightings of UFOs in the sky last week. The fears were quickly debunked by the claim that the 'UFOs' were actually balloons released from a nearby school.
But this weekend lights forming a mirror image of the pattern seen in the sky over New York have been seen in El Paso, Texas - immediately sparking speculation that the little green men have moved down south.

First New York... now El Paso? Left, what New Yorkers saw in the Big Apple on Wednesday. Right, what Texans saw over El Paso on the weekend
Witnesses in El Paso flooded local police stations and newsrooms with phone calls. Many reported seeing the same sequence of events in the night sky.
First one light appeared to cascade from the heavens, separating into three, each with a tail behind it.
Then they are seen solidifying into three dots forming a triangle - a triangle that was the mirror image of the three 'balloons' in New York.
Next a fourth light appeared, the lights appearing to hover in the air - and then, suddenly, they all went out.
Because it was dark, it seems unlikely that these lights are balloons.
The lights were captured on video and have sparked a frenzy of speculation, especially after a local news station pointed out the simliarity between them and the sightings over New York last week.
The mysterious objects hovered over the West Side of the Big Apple, causing thousands of New Yorkers to wonder what exactly they were seeing.
Mystery: Local witnesses reporting first seeing a single light cascade from the sky
Then, suddenly, the light split in to three parts
The three lights then solidified into three points as they appeared to hover over El Paso
Suddenly a fourth light appeared - and then all four went out. The lights have not yet been explained
Traffic had ground to a halt and pedestrians stopped in their tracks to look skyward at the cluster of dots hovering overhead.
But those objects turned out to be nothing other than wayward party balloons from a school in Mount Vernon.
Angela Freeman, headteacher of the Milestone School in Westchester said she was astonished at all the attention her decorations caused: 'It was just a freak thing. Frankly, I'm shocked by it'.
The cluster of balloons were apparently inadvertently launched when a parent bought the balloons in for a celebration at the suburban school.
'The kids had an engagement party for a teacher, and a mother brought four dozen balloons, and she's coming through the door. It is very windy in Mount Vernon. Suddenly, 12 of the balloons let loose,' Freeman explained.
The truth is up there: Traffic ground to a halt and thousands looked to the skies at the strange object whizzing over Manhattan
New Yorkers came to a standstill as they watched the lights in the sky last week
As for the lights in El Paso this weekend, speculation is rife on the internet - and no definitive explanation has yet been given.
Many have suggested a military explanation. One observer at Headhot wrote: 'They are magnesium flares on parachutes. They are used to light up battlefields.
'A single mortar is launched, then the three flares ignite and drift down on parachutes. Then they burn out and go dark.
'Odds are there was some national guard training going on.'
Other users suggested they were a night skydiving team practicing for an airshow.
In New York, the shiny balloons which were meant for language arts teacher Andrea Crapara were released at around 1pm. The first 'UFO' sighting was just thirty minutes later.
NYPD revealed that the sightings prompted several 911 calls and brought parts of the Chelsea district to a complete standstill.
Mystery: Police and the Federal Aviation Authority were deluged with calls and despite mounting an investigation were unable to ascertain what it was
Veteran UFO spotters had come forward even before the school balloon explanation and were cynical that the object floating in the sky would be unexplained.
Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center in Washington DC said at the time: 'It had the flavour of a cluster of balloons in my opinion'.
Most people were sceptical that the objects were extra terrestrial life, yet remained transfixed nonetheless.
Witness Daniel Calhoun, 52, said: ‘Common sense says it wasn't a UFO. Common sense says it was a plane or a balloon, but this thing stopped everyone in the street for two blocks.
'Any New Yorker will tell you, that alone is extraordinary.’
Witness Pete Bryant, 32, added: ‘There was no way that thing was a balloon... Light just doesn't reflect off balloons like that.’
Some blog posts linked the sighting to a book published by a retired U.S. Air Force officer which said that October 13, the very day the sighting happened, would witness ‘a massive UFO display over the world's principal cities'.

It doesn't look like balloons to me, perhaps it is Venus and Venus and Venus..whatever it is, I'm sure the Government are involved. If they could convince most people that we are being visited by aliens, they could rush through all their contentious legislation, form a one world Government and not a peep out of the sheep. They have been rehearsing their skyshows over Norway and elsewhere, I cannot wait for the main presentation.

So, a UFO sighting over New York - a city with hundreds of stores having millions of digital cameras and zoom lenses and the best shot they can come up with is something indiscernable....
Someone, surely, has a decent, clear picture of what this is - and since it's more newsworthy to believe it's a UFO, so it will remain.

Perhaps Project Bluebeam has geared up a notch, if it really does exist. I guess we'll find out in the next few years - can't wait for the superstate-generated projections and sound transmissions straight into our minds, that'll be interesting. They already have the technology to do this in the military allegedly, would it ever be used to control the general population?

In 1992 on a flight from Singapore to London I saw something from the window of the aircraft. The cabin lights had been dimmed and it was clear air space. What I saw made no sense. There were six pulsating red lights in the distance. It was impossible to tell how far away, but my guess would be about a mile or more. They were diamond shaped and appeared perfectly still. Suddenly they took off in upwards and outwards very fast. They were gone in a second. When I arrived in the UK, there were some reports about UFO sightings around the world. I can't say what they were, nor can I say what they weren't.

Christie. Not the Orange UFO story again. Are you the last person on this planet to know about Chinese lanterns. They have been very popular for several years now, particularly at parties. They are made of paper over a wire frame and powered by a paraffin block, which is lit with a match. As you let go of them they are taken by the wind so they give the appearance of a cluster travelling in the same direction. You can get them on any high street or over the internet. This does not stop newspapers from publishing orange UFO stories every few weeks.

We too saw these in the late 1960's and was told it was weather balloons, do they really think we believe that! Balloons cannot travel faster than a jet and stop dead at will. Of course their are life forms out their, and they are far superior to us, they have the means to travel in space far faster than anything we have devised so they must be superior.

Magnesium flares on parachutes don't extinguish themselves at the same instant as they would die out at different rates and balloons don't sit in exactly the same spot for hours on end. Many Governments around the World are beginning to talk about these things in an enlightened way, but it is the U.S Govt who is stalling any real kind of disclosure over these increasingly common events.
These things can't all be balloons, Chinese lanterns, flares etc...even if 99% of these sightings Worldwide can be explained away; the remaining 1% that is un-explained would have a massive impact on humanity. It's time the Governments around the World realised that we're not frightened children, and can take the news that we are not alone.

'A cluster of tiny silver dots hover over Manhattan yesterday'
Reminded me of an experience from more than ten years ago when holidaying in France.
Using low power binoculars and taking advantage of the dark skies in rural France I observed a similar group of lights which were not otherwise visible to the naked eye.
From my experience as an amateur astronomer and routine night-time use of both telescope or binoculars, I applied every observational test I could think of to explain what I could see in the binoculars field of view.
No satisfactory explanation was forthcoming and so the experience was put down to UAP - unexplained aerial phenomenon.

I'm sick of hearing people saying they're "balloons" WITHOUT getting the facts first. The fact is .. there's no way they're balloons. These things stayed in the sky for more than 45 minutes. There's no way balloons can stay in the sky for more than 5 minutes .. they'd already pop.
Secondly, there's no way they're "magnesium flares on parachutes". Look at the video of the one in El Paso. Not only did they drop, stop in mid-air .. but they MOVED up and down. Flares DO NOT move up and down.
It's OK if anyone doesn't want to believe in UFOs. It's OK if anyone has an explanation. BUT .. PLEASE get the facts FIRST .. stop trying to prove anything without even knowing the facts.

My wife and I saw a single light cascade exactly like the one in the photo in this article. We were traveling down the A483 south of Wrexham at approx 3.30am this morning(19th Oct). It was impossible to gauge the distance but to us it would have been over Oswestry or beyond. It shot down vertically...not at all like a shooting star.

I got a video of the same thing flying in the same formation over Surrey except they were orange. I think they fly in triangular formation so as to let the air force know who they are & not cause them to scramble jet fighters.
They appeared to take off from a nearby air base in 3 waves (total 16 craft) flew across the sky & all vanished in the same spot. There are millions of these beggars flying about.

Interesting. About 10 years ago in Milton Keynes I saw something similar to this. Around 8 bright lights in the sky (at night) pretty large, which were darting in around each other and all of a sudden they just shot off really quickly forming an arrow shape. Very interesting that New York's radar facilities were evacuated the same time the "balloons" were sighted. All because of a funny smell. Planes were left in the air till it was all over. Something fishy there, methinks.

How gullible can one be??!! I knew they were balloons the moment they appeared on the news.
Three purple moon men came to visit me in the middle of the night a week earlier and told me they planning a hoax above New York.

Wow yet more out of focus blurred pictures. Doesn't anyone own a decent camera? Or is it just yet more faked nonsense?

"Get a grip people, ask yourselves, why would any intelligent life-form want to come here?"
Because they've ALREADY been here. They are our ancestors. We are their creations. We have their DNA. They've been monitoring us for thousands of years. Go watch "Ancient Aliens" by the History Channel. Please educate yourself.

Any one else out there witness this?

"They said the 'UFO' over New York was just balloons... so how do they explain the mirror image over El Paso?"

"Zog to Zag in mother ship. Over."
"Hello, Zog. Any sign of intelligent life down there?"
"No, Zag. We'll give it a few more days but it doesn't look promising."
"Shame."

I have no idea what they were to this day.

Very interesting that New York's radar facilities were evacuated the same time the "balloons" were sighted. All because of a funny smell. Planes were left in the air till it was all over. Something fishy there, methinks.

It is a parachute jump practice - the El Paso Times has info. This was disproved about 2 days ago.
