First time I've come across this author, a South African who calls himself "The Contrarian" this article he says is the first of a series looking at a few researchers, Debunking UFO 'Expert' Bob Lazar | Part 1I'd like to start this article off with an explanation. I don't consider myself a 'debunker,' because I am not actively going out there on the internet looking for things to label as humbug. On the odd occasion though, there are people who should know better and who have a following of sheep (mostly ignorant, uneducated people) that clamor onto and slurp up every word these so-called 'experts' utter. These charlatans are the entities of intellectual treason that I aim to dethrone so that their flock may roam free and do more useful things with their time and money. I find the field of UFOlogy exciting and much more of a challenging foe than christians and muslims (and other religiomaniacs), who always go running to faith and scripture when they lose an argument (which is always). UFOlogists, whilst cut from the same fabric as religiomaniacs, actually are quite smart in general. How smart? Well, the top fruit from the basket that is UFOlogy are actually legitimate, qualified scientists or high-ranking military personnel and engineers! Below these 'titans' of the movement are quite a few highly intelligent and knowledgeable men and women who provide a wealth of information, disinformation, explanations, and 'proof' to the sheep that eventually end up buy all the books, DVDs, and supposed 'alien' artifacts fabricated and flogged by these 'experts.' Two of the most prominent and respected figures in UFOlogy today are Nuclear Physicist Stanton Friedman, and Dr. (Medical Doctor) Steven Greer. In future articles, I will do write about both of them and their conduct, as well, but in this article I want to start with Bob Lazar because whenever one debates a believer--in extraterrestrial phenomenon and alien life forms, that is--one invariably gets referred to the 'gospel' and scripture as written by THE Bob Lazar. Some of you may say and ask. Ok Contrarian, we know you love stirring the pot, but really now; have you sunken so low as to attack charlatans from the 1980s while you gloss over the ones that are quacking loudly in the present? To such themed statements and questions I will say the following: I would not be debunking some UFOlogist who rose to and fell from fame decades ago, if it were not that the balderdash peddled by him were still being kept in circulation by people who lack the most basic education and instinct to verify and cross-check the claims of their 'heroes' in the movement. If I had a dollar (sorry, but the 'Rand' is but a memory to me now) for every time a believer told me to go and 'educate' myself by reading Bob Lazar's explanations and perusing his diagrams of alien spacecraft propulsion systems, then I would probably be out right now in my Ferrari, as opposed to sitting here at my desk, expunging my precious time to debunk a deceitful, guttersnipe UFOlogist from the 1980s! If I hear about element 115, or 'islands of stability' in super-heavy atomic nuclei, or the 'omicron' vs 'delta' flying configurations of UFOs, then I am going to launch a vomit rocket the size of the empire state building, travelling at faster than the speed of light, straight at the Zeta Reticulii cluster to trigger an inter-planetary war between humankind and 'the Greys!' But who is Bob Lazar? His full name is Robert Lazar, and he was born 26 Januay, 1959, in Coral Gables, Florida, USA. Apart from his ‘otherworldly’ claim to fame, he did some collaborative work with a NASA researcher on a jet car—a venture which landed him a spot in the media in 1982. Bob Lazar claims he holds degrees from MIT and CalTech and is a physicist (or was, more on that later) who was recruited by the US government to be one of a handful of people on the planet allowed to view and study ‘extraterrestrial' technology. Specifically, his job was to reverse engineer the propulsion systems of hand-me-down alien spacecraft (UFOs). He has appeared on a number of T.V. and radio shows and continues to have a somewhat demigod-like reputation in the field of UFOlogy. He was at the height of his fame in the late-1980s to late-1990s. In that time, Bob had shown himself to be inconsistent, at best, when it came to how and what he divulged about his research work on alien spacecraft. He would often try to brush off attempts by interviewers to reconcile what he said with what he was busy saying as him merely having a 'poor memory' of the events and details he witnessed. He also cannot show any proof of ever having been at MIT or CalTech or having graduated from either institution. Bob Lazar has the perfect explanation for his inability to prove that he's a graduate (in physics and electronics) from two of the world's most prestigious universities. He claims the US government wiped out every record related to him in an attempt to discredit and squash him after he left their secret projects to publically share his knowledge regarding UFO technology harboured and studied at S4. S4 is shorthand for Site-4, which supposedly is the workshop and storage facility for the infamous Area-51 installation. Area-51, of course, requires no introduction to anyone who grew up within the reach of a T.V, but for those who don’t know, Area-51 is that extraterrestrial piss-hole in the Nevada desert where, supposedly, three trillion Dollars from the USA's annual budget pays for the reverse engineering and replication of downed UFOs! Steeped in secrecy and surrounded by an impenetrable military presence, Area-51 has become the wet dream obsession of every UFO & alien nut walking the planet. The fact that it is a secret compound with a strong military presence, out in the middle of a desert, obviously means it is being used to shoot down and reverse engineer ET's bicycle! Doh! How can that facility be used for ANYTHING else but that purpose? But most people know what is being done at Area-51. The US military is building and testing hypersonic aircraft for stealth combat and surveillance purposes. However, it takes more than a few pictures of ramjet-engine rockets or angular stealth planes to pass something off as reverse engineered from alien spacecraft! Ramjets, pulsejets, and angular, radar-evading craft are actually primitive terrestrial aviation technologies and definitely not gleaned from UFOs! If you care to read the news about the US testing supersonic craft, you’d notice that they blow up or fly apart at an unnerving rate. I don’t think that would happen if you supposedly learned how to make near indestructible alloys by studying ET’s bicycle. But let me get back to ol' Bob. Even Stanton Friedman, who on occasion entertains the nonsense spewed by his fellow UFOlogists, tried to look into Bob Lazar's background and could not find any reference that he had ever been to MIT or CalTech. Nobody there remembers Bob, and Bob could not recall the name or surname of ANY of his lecturers. He could not even give the name of any of his fellow students at the time he attended these universities who would be able to verify that he had sat in class with them. When your fellow basket fruit questions your credibility and claims, you really have a lot of explaining to do. And most definitely not the vapid excuse that you have a cranial shortcoming in the form of a poor or selective memory! When one listens to interviews conducted with Bob Lazar, it becomes painfully evident that the man gets uncomfortable and even evasive when the topic of his educational background is called into question. Bob Lazar, of course, to this day, continues to hide behind his impenetrable force field: a self-loathing reminder that he has 'a very poor memory.' Well then, even more reason to whack him with the scrupulously straight bat of the peer-review process. In part 2 I will delve deep into the lies, conspiracies, inaccuracies, and shenanigans of Bob Lazar. I will take his diagrams and contextually inaccurate scientific utterings and explain them properly to whomever is interested. I hope that I can show it plainly and clearly that Bob Lazar is one of the biggest frauds ever to grace the history pages of UFOlogy! After note: As I was doing research for part 2 of this article, I noticed Bob Lazar has closed his website down with a 'reopening soon' notice. I also cannot access a cached version of his old site from the search engines. I'll have to resort to other sources (scattered and incomplete as they may be) to piece together enough content for part 2. Please give me some time to verify the information to ensure it accurately represents Bob Lazar's claims. www.news24.com/MyNews24/Debunking-UFO-Expert-Bob-Lazar-Part-1-20120824

Greer and Friedman are on his hit list also. Maybe he should have written about Greer first since his claims are much more outrageous than Bob Lazar's

na nothing else that interests us, previous posts are film reviews, atheism and what I presume is general drunken waffle, no contact address either
this article titled "I Know What I Saw! Part 1" from April this year has not been followed up with a part 2, a quote from the first part of the article is.
so it could be a long wait for more of his debunking articles, probable reason the original article caught my eye was the drunken piss take out of Lob Bizzar ;D

Yeah we can safely take anything this guy says with a pinch of salt. Ive seen loads of debates on Bob Lazar and looked at his claims. The fact is no-one has debunked all of Lazar's claims and hundreds of people have tryed. Its always his education and the same circular argument.
As far as I'm concerned Lazar's case is still very open, and untill any new evidence comes up (which I very much doubt it will), then it will still remain open. The same as every other case that has no definitive answer's.

Ive posted a comment on his article lets see if he replys. Here is what I said ~ Quote: Contrarian are you willing to come and debate Bob Lazar on UFO Research Network ? And if you like we can take a look at Greer whom you say is one of the most Respected Researchers in the field of UFOlogy. ( Greer's Claim's are more Bizare than Bob Lazar's)
Are you going to address every claim Bob Lazar made ?
Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is so to speak?
Ill look forward to the debate if your up to it ? |
Let's see if I get it posted or get a reply.

Hello All,
As per the title of this thread:
One of Lazar's claims is that at S-4, where he supposedly worked, there was stockpiled 500 lbs. of solid element 115 in a triangular shape that was the propulsion material used by the UFO's there. Anyone who has looked into this material, also called ununpentium, will know that it's half-life is 1/10th of a second. What does that mean? It means that in 1/10th of a second one will only have 250 lbs. of element 115 left. The other 250 lbs. having decayed into another isotope called ununtritium. Now ununtritium's half-life is only about 1 minute before it too then decays into the next element and so forth. As one can readily see these phases of half-life decay have an extremely short time frame. Lazar though says eventually we'll find an isotope element stable enough to work as an anti-gravity propulsion. BUT.... that implies then that the original statement WRT the "500Lbs" already being that propulsion was a lie. Any thoughts on this?

Bob was implying that we will be able to synthesize a stable isotope of element 115 here on earth one day, he wasnt talking about the 500lbs they already had.

Hello uforn,
Bob said the 500 lbs of element 115 WAS stable. They supposedly even milled some up. IMHO one lie that large brings anything "Lazar" down in a big way. Just another case of an "expert" doing the ufology shuffle.

Hello uforn,
Yes, that was his claim and I won't argue that aspect. But in taking him at his word one has to accept that physics here is somehow different that physics elsewhere and I really have a problem with that one. If Alien-planet physics IS different it still will have to abide by the laws of physics when any material is brought here. Therefore ununpentium on Earth will be unstable no matter where it was "manufactured". It will be radioactive, it will be unstable, it will have an extremely fast decay rate and no matter how much Bob dances around the fact with "funny science" I have to go with Freidman who IS a physicist. I know the arguments about being jealous of Lazar stealing the limelight and lost revenues because of dwindling speaker opportunities but it's all BS. The shrinking speaker schedule is becuse folks in ufology are increasingly skeptical and generally smell a rat in the whole dis-info game. Nothing new there but I believe the mistrust factor to be more prevalent now than is years past. I also think Lazar and others like him, Nick Pope etc., are functioning distractors from something much larger simply because the pattern among those kinds of "experts" is so similar to each other. You know being "insiders" and "whistle-blowers" and all who have no evidence other that what they say to the public. I for one DEFINITELY smell a more universal, world-wide rat. The U.S., the U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Belgium, and the rest have this same pattern going on. Something's cooking and since UFO people dig hard and are smart in their research efforts they are the main targets of the dis-info scheme. I'm very nearly ready to focus my efforts to things BEHIND the Lazars and the Popes. Could be time to let the UFO thing go altogether and dig deeper.

Hello uforn,
That's good, it really is. My research into element 115 has helped immensly in getting at least some indication of why you would like to put the subject to rest once and for all, and for all concerned. I've been searching for others who claim to have had records of their past wiped clean but so far have had no tangible results. I'll stay with it simply to support my conclusions of a pattern of intent in injecting these people into the UFO community as a diversionary tactic which I'm convinced is the case. There's just too much coincidence that so many are around at this stage ofufology's evolution. Almost as if it a reactionary device in the last 15 years or so to create dissention in the ranks and shift focus away from something else entirely. one has to admit that between Lazar and Pope alone there has been a lot of contention in the Forums; basically because their claims lack proof and possess contradictory histories when it comes to those unproven claims. Believe me when I say I hear you too in this and admire your approach of producing evidence of either deceit or honor.

That would be great if you could carry on trying to find another whistle blower who's had their records wiped clean

Hello uforn, I was just about to give up the search when lo and behold (speaking of patterns): www.ufowatchdog.com/burischdirtbag.htmAnd: www.hidden-truth.org/ufos/sightings/human-contactThe latter is quite a lengthy but interesting article. Here is an excerpt but the entire article should be read for contextual purposes: "The strategies for dealing with those former servicemen, corporate employees or witnesses brave or ‘foolish’ enough to come forward to reveal classified information is to intimidate, silence, eliminate or discredit these individuals. This policy involves such strategies as removing all public records of former military service men or corporate employees, forcing individuals to make retractions, deliberately distorting statements of individuals, or discrediting individuals. Bob Lazar, for example, claimed to be a former physicist employed with reverse engineering extraterrestrial craft. He described the disappearance of all his university and public records indicating how military-intelligence agencies actively discredit whistleblowers. [36] In the cases of the witnesses cited so far, Cooper, Schneider, Lear, Wolf, all have been subjected to some or all of these strategies thereby making it difficult to reach firm conclusions about their testimonies. Since the creation of controversy, uncertainty, and confusion is the modus operandi of military-intelligence agencies in maintaining secrecy of the extraterrestrial presence, then the testimonies of former officials/employees/witnesses need to be considered on their merits. While issues of credibility, credentials, disinformation are important in the study of the extraterrestrial presence, a rigorous methodology for dealing with the efforts of military-intelligence agencies to discredit, intimidate or create controversy around particular witnesses, has yet to be developed. For example, numerous efforts to discredit Cooper in particular by referring to inconsistencies in his statements, retractions, egregious behavior and stated positions, may be due in part or in whole to the policy of military-intelligence officials to discredit and/or intimidate Cooper from leaking classified information that he may very well have witnessed in his official capacities. Since Cooper’s military record does indicate he did serve in an official capacity on the briefing team of the Commander of the Pacific Fleet, it is most likely that much of his testimony is credible. Whatever inaccuracies exist in terms of his recollections of the timing of meetings between the Eisenhower administration and extraterrestrials may either have been due to memory lapses or perhaps deliberately introduced as a self-protective mechanism. It has been pointed out by some ‘whistleblowers’ that making retractions or sowing inaccuracies in testimonies is sometimes essential in disseminating information without being physically harmed. [37] The controversial Cooper had been subjected to undoubtedly the longest and most intense military-intelligence efforts to discredit or intimidate any whistleblower revealing classified information".

my problem with this my 2 daughters both have university degrees, if their records were wiped there would still be graduation photos and certificates on the wall unit, unless there was a break in and these were stolen, there would also be friends made at uni who would remember them, now if Lazar didn't go to the university's that he stated (but couldn't quite remember the dates) then he must have been taught what he knows somewhere ? also when he filed for bankruptcy he put on the official legal documents that he attended cal tech and mit as he did for his legal documents for the pandering court case, its one thing lying to a UFO magazine but lying to the courts is way to dodgy, surely the courts would have picked up on this and then charged him with perverting the course of justice, he was obviously a clever man with an education, but where was he educated, Stanton Friedman wasn't the only person to check him out, also George knapp and Glenn Campbell did, so why did he lie about his education ? why hasn't he put up more of a fight to prove what he says, Friedman also says Lazar was in the bottom third in his class at high school and probably took a summer course to get enough credits, there is no way Friedman would be given this information by Lazar's high school, so this alone makes me think Friedman is a bit iffy.

I just watched UFO Deep Secrets. I'm very much a believer in extra terrestrials, it feels arrogant to believe that we are the only inhabited planet in the entire universe with advanced technology and culture. I do however not believe a single word of what Bob Lazar said in the documentary. His body language, particularly his facial expressions, the way he paused at particular times in what he was saying, grammatical errors, wrong words used within the context of what he was saying. Everything he said seemed to be a lie. I'm very critical in my evaluation, and maybe to some, too picky on details that might be read wrongly, but please read the entire evaluation before you comment. You can check out the video here www.zalaa.com/s2uy6r8jy1sp/UFO_Deep_Secrets.flv.htm05:31 "It was a technology that.. doesn't exist even today" After he said that, his lips retracted in a clinch, this is a typical sign of holding something back, or lying. When he was talking about the equipment he supposedly had worked on, he was looking down and shutting his eyes, also a sign of deception. 06:56 "All it would do was prove, that what I was saying was true" He blinked a lot saying this, and in particular he blinked before saying "that what I was saying was true" Why increased blinking rate? and particularly just before the quoted sentence? Could be blinking for no reason, but combined with the other signs of deception in the video, it adds to criticism of his supposed honesty. 07:15 "I was told, there was an.. opening available, (blinks twice - sign of pressure) from a.. for a new.. .. exotic field propulsion system.. .. that. (I would be working in a remote area <- with the abrupt "that. and pause" before this sentence it appears as he planned to say something else first, but changed his mind) "It all sounded great to me, it's exactly what I wanted to get (into) - voice pitch went down, and didn't sound as interesting to him as the words he used to express that sentiment ) 08:50 "The bus leaves.. .. Area 51.. And drives, ("I'm guessing" - prolongued pronounciation, and also has his eyes shut saying this - sign of possible deception)" 08:58 "It was kind of exciting, cause I thought, boy if it's." <-Abrupt pause in what he was saying -> Another stressed and perceived change of chosen words and topic. His eyebrows really go up before he says "We're leaving Area 51" another possible sign of deception. 09:07 "This must be." <- Abrupt pause again "really (secure? secretive? <- this word was really difficult to determine what he was saying, why the sudden difficulty in pronounciation? 09:43 "And standing back".. .. .. (Longest pause so far) "Maybe three, four hundred feet.." (Eyebrows raised high again, and shuts eyes before starting the next sentence) 10:40 "Looking through some of the." (Abrupt pause) 10:45 While he said "extra terrestrial vehicle" he shut his eyes and also lowered his head, again indicating possible deception. 10:59 "It could be a part of all, some big." <-stopped saying what he intended to follow up with after saying "all" and changed to some big." with abrupt pause. 11:28 "It was sitting on its, on its belly on the ground" why the repeated words? 11:30 "I went up and." <- abrupt pause. "raised my hand to touch. <- abrupt pause. Too many abrupt pauses to not seem deceptive. 12:10 "The basic aim." <- abrupt pause, again! 12:37 "It was obviously made for something smaller" his eyebrows went up again, but barely perceptibly. Indicates possible deception. 13:35 "It actually left me, pretty much confused." <- why use the words pretty much? he chose to say actually, which indicates certainty, but then using pretty much, he sounds uncertain. 14:25 "The sport model" <- when he said this, his lower jaw muscles twitched for no apparent reason. Facial muscles are very specific in their purpose and highly tuned to this. Why the twitch? 14:50 "It was completely alien in every way" his lips pressed together again in a clinch, but more subtle. Possible deception. 15:32 "Absolutely impressive" <- Why choose the word absolutely, signifying tremendous, then choose the word impressive, when a more suitable word to absolutely, would have been - amazing. It just feels contradictory. 16:02 "I don't know if I'm going to be coming back until tomorrow" <- he followed this with a subtle smirk. Why the smirk? 16:35 "Because it was the middle of the week. Because there was very little travel <- his eyes went up before saying the latter sentence, indicating he was trying to remember, or was trying to invent something to say. He also had an abrupt, quite long pause again after "travel" to the following "on the adjacent highways to the testsite" 18:15 "It was quite incredible" here he used a suitable combination of words, and also laughed. He said this in context of him and his friends, supposedly being surrounded by lots of security people. Yet earlier, when he talked about witnessing the flying saucer flying, it was "Absolutely impressive" how is the supposed witnessing of an extra terrestrial flying saucer actually flying less amazing/incredible, than being surrounded by security people with M16's? 19:40 He talked about being threatened by a guy with a gun in his car. Yet while he said this, he was shaking his head sideways. If this incident is true, then the shaking of the head would make sense with the feeling that he was in danger, as he said "there was nothing I could do", but it could also be a sign of deception. 42:25 "This begins to sounds like" simple grammatical error, but possible indication of deception. Also made unintelligable noise after this, as well as a long pause, which seemed to indicate he didn't know what to say. He also followed this by saying 42:30 "A conspiracy movie" this is a viable choice of words, but with the unintelligable noise and long pause, I would think, conspiracy theory, would seem more realistic and serious, than conspiracy movie. 42:35 "I don't know who (even wrote my paycheck)" <- he closed his eyes while saying this. 42:50 "I have people who can verify everything" <- he shuts his mouth, then shakes his head sideways as in a no. 42:58 "And I can't wait." Long and abrupt pause 43:00 His eyes for a micro second looked fearful, and his eyebrows go down in what could be an aggressive gesture. He also closes his eyes, looks down to the right, and shrugs his shoulders, all indicating possible perception. At the end he also seems to breathe heavily. There are a lot of other abrupt pauses I haven't written down, but I honestly couldn't be bothered. His whole testimonial looks like a scam, and I wouldn't listen to him for one second in the search of truth behind Area 51 and aliens. I do believe all the other testimonials in the documentary were true, their body language, tone of voice, verbal flow etc, all indicated honesty.

Hi James welcome to UFORN Good first post, it looks like you put alot of effort into it, however how does Bob's body language discredit his claims? If we judged everyone on body language we would be in a sorry state of affairs

Hi uforn,
Thanks,
I did, was too annoyed to let it pass. His body language, not so much, but his facial expressions and micro expressions, and how he seemed to switch topic mid sentence, not to mention the many abrupt pauses he made, just rang alarm bells in me. If I felt sure he was speaking the truth, I wouldn't have reacted like I did, the other people in the documentary seemed completely honest in comparison, no body language, facial expressions, etc, to indicate otherwise.
His claims are as good as the behaviour he emits, hence the critique by me.
Body language is a difficult area to be correct in, but I've learnt a lot over the years, and my assessment of him felt correct. Saying that, a lie detection expert would be the best one to assess whether my observations have merit.
If Bob Lazar is a fraud, he should be exposed as one. If he isn't I wish him all the best in his endeavours.

any chance of a Youtube link for the body language video ? is he asked any questions that we know the true answer to, if so then how does he react, and my opinion of nerdy types is they tend to look down a lot and stutter and fidget and wear big nerdy specs, but that doesn't mean they are lying, I like to think it is a nerdy trait
