Three Lights Over Arizona Casino Questioned By Ground Witness
An Arizona witness at Maricopa observed three lights over the Harrah's Ak-Chin Hotel & Casino on May 24, 2010, that may have been part of a single object, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
"The three lights (orbs) were in a straight line, evenly spaced, very large in size, and amber in color with a very slight shimmer or heat wave look," the witness stated.
"There was no glare or beam of light as associated with normal lights. I think a lager passenger jet at the same altitude and distance, would be completely covered / blanketed out by the size of one orb."
Each of the three orbs disappeared while the witness watched.
"So what did I see? Being that I’m an aviation buff, I pretty sure it wasn’t an aircraft or not an aircraft that I know of. I sure it wasn’t a type of flare (hand, motor, artillery launched or aircraft dropped). I’m not sure if the orbs were part of one object or three individual orbs."
But the witness speculates.
"To me they looked to be part of one object but there was no visible silhouette or superstructure, so I can’t really say that it was. But if the orbs were part of one object, then that thing would have been huge. If they were individual objects, then each looked to have been larger than a larger passenger jet."
The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Arizona MUFON State Director Christine Dickey investigates and reports back on these cases, I will release an update.
AZ, May 24, 2010 - Three circlar objects / orbs, amber in color. MUFON Case # 23687.
Location: Maricopa, Az.
Date: 24 May 10
Time: Around 9 PM
Skies: Clear
Well, thanks to this site I think it’s time for me to report my sighting also. Knowing that others have seen basically the same objects that I observed on the night of 24 May is going to make this interesting.
I departed my house in route to Phoenix for some last minute shopping at JC Pennies, before my trip to Germany. I turned right on to 347 (John Wayne Pkwy/Maricopa Rd) south from Alterra Pkwy. Got into left lane due to upcoming u-turn at W. Juan St./347 intersection.
As soon as I turned on to 347 I noticed what I first thought be three landing lights of a larger low flying aircraft in a left bank about to land. The lights were just off to the right of 347 and appeared to be over the Ak Chin Casino.
Then I thought to myself, hey there’s no airport in Maricopa and this aircraft is way too low to land at Phoenix airport. The lights looked to be about 500 ft or so above the casino. Then I had that,”WTF is that?” moment and tried to figure out what I was looking at.
The three lights (orbs) were in a straight line, evenly spaced, very large in size, and amber in color with a very slight shimmer or heat wave look. There was no glare or beam of light as associated with normal lights. I think a lager passenger jet at the same altitude and distance, would be completely covered / blanketed out by the size of one orb.
The size and span of all three orbs covered an area much larger than the casino property and appeared to hover over the casino with no sound. When I was about 1000 ft. or so from the intersection and thinking about pulling over for a better look, the two orbs on the left disappeared. The remaining orb now appeared to have a cat eye or vertical oblong shape and stay visible for a second or two longer.
Once I reached the intersection, I waited on one or two passing cars and watched the third orb disappeared. I made the u turn, stopped in the breakdown lane, and waited for a while to see if the orbs would reappear. Being that they did not reappear after a couple of minutes, I headed to Phoenix and keeping a lookout for the orbs. I had no other sighting.
So what did I see? Being that I’m an aviation buff, I pretty sure it wasn’t an aircraft or not an aircraft that I know of. I sure it wasn’t a type of flare (hand, motor, artillery launched or aircraft dropped). I’m not sure if the orbs were part of one object or three individual orbs.
To me they looked to be part of one object but there was no visible silhouette or superstructure, so I can’t really say that it was. But if the orbs were part of one object, then that thing would have been huge. If they were individual objects, then each looked to have been larger than a larger passenger jet. So do I think I saw a UFO? My answer, in one word would be, “Yes”. Would I like to see another one? Same answer.
