Orbs are a technical anomaly in flash photography. I don't see any connection with UFO's and orbs other than they both share the same number of letters and they are both mysterious.

I am sorry to have to disagree with you (since I'm am not a disagreeable person) but almost all orb pictures I've taken, and I've gotten many, are without a flash, in daylight, without any place for sun flare or other things. I've also taken several pictures of orbs (if that's what they are) in the sky. Large, silver looking things, with a shadow underneath. Again, these are daylight sightings.

Hi sactolady the kind of photo's with which Aelius refers to are well known camera anomaly's such as in the photo's below. These kind of artifacts are created by the cameras flash. You say you have some photo's of orbs during the day? Would you like to share any of your photo's with us ?

I have seen a few 'orbs' in the sky that would technically fall under the title of UFO, also sightings like the Foo Fighters etc would also come under this remit.
However I have seen hundreds of photos that are nothing more than dust particles in a camera, I have even seen some with the naked eye, normally when my eye is slightly watered up. If you go into any Spiritualist church, you'll find hundreds of orb photos, all claiming to be spirits captured by the camera but all can be explained as nothing more than dust particles.
Sactolady, I would love to see some orb photos you have taken. If what you are describing about the sky ones, then you may have seen similar to myself.
