When I first started investigating UFO's it was 1968, their were no orbs, but there was orange and red star like objects that would rise from the horizon and follow aeroplanes. There was no internet, only books so we started skywatching (can't beat the mark 1 eyeball) with a group of like minded friends. We had weekly meetings and allowed interested parties to attend (we advertised the meetings in a local paper). We amassed a vast amount of information (most now sadly lost) and met other groups to exchange information.
Most UFO sightings were 'nuts and bolt' craft, not much transparent or similar about. Abductions were not really in the news and crop circles had not really hit the headlines (saw my first one being made in 1974)
The common alien at the time were the greys, plus a lot of nordic types and uncommon now were tall greys (6ft plus). There were a couple of smelly glowing eyes type but those reports came from the USA.
We were on the edge of the occult and spiritual fringe but we were desperate for information. One young chap had an excellent rapport with all things alien and could nearly predict the next local sighting we would witness (type, area and time) he was spooky!
Cameras were no good at night, and there were no security cameras about, so all the sightings were drawn and written accounts made and signed by the whitnesses. There were no mobile phones and the telly was in black and white, the show to watch was 'Project UFO' (the american series) which was an early X files.
I myself had some really good (and scary) experiences and still have some good contacts made all those years ago. I saw a cigar shaped object in the woods, surrounded by greys and confused humans, nearly drove into a 30ft disc as I rounded a corner late at night in the countryside and have sat on the small bench inside the saucer, dazed and confused, waiting to have some more DNA ripped out, and surprisingly, been protected by the greys when things didn't go to plan.
You have never had it so good
