If the “55 by 60 meter” circular ice formations (craters) were not caused by meteorites as reported in these articles…

“An astronomer has discounted the theory that meteors fell from the sky in central Newfoundland earlier this week.”
And…
"What was amazing was how they all lined up so perfectly in a straight line over a period of about eight or nine kilometers"
And… the Canadian Space Agency says it was nothing that fell from space….

Denis Laurin is the Senior Program Scientist for Space Astronomy Missions at the Canadian Space Agency. He says space junk will normally burn up in our atmosphere. Had it been a meteor, he says it would have left evidence behind.
What then… was the "Something that came down with a brutal force." That left “no debris of any kind when it broke through the two feet of ice it and put a lot of water back up on the ice."?
In addition…
One local resident…, reported a loud sound like a sonic boom, in the area during the evening before the discovery.
While another resident said… something made a noise in the night, but he assumed it was the dog and rolled over to go back to sleep. He also remembers seeing a flash of light earlier, but assumed it was the headlight of a snowmobile.

Proposed answer…. “Methane gas buildup under the ice, causing an explosion and a loud noise.”
I am not suggesting the perfectly circular 60 meter crater \ holes that, ironically where lined up perfectly in a straight line over a distance of nine KM, can from a UFO, USO or anything extra-terrestrial. But the answer I refuse to accept… swamp gas…..
Which… by the way… If anyone can actually prove or provide actual video or verifiable evidence of swamp gas… it would be greatly appreciated… because… if one searches around for them… these videos and don’t exist… why might that be?
